Typical Applications:
SEPCOR, LLC. SE-40 is proprietary product that is composed of nonionic surfactants, co-solvents, and oil/water soluble alcohols. In wells that have asphaltene and paraffin deposition, SE-40 is an excellent pre-flush to any acid treatment job. SE-40 will strip and put in the hydrocarbon deposits into solution, so the acid can work on the acid soluble layer. The benefit of using SE-40 is that you get a more efficient acid job and improved cleanout.
SE-40 unlike other additives and solvents on the market, can be applied in concentrated form to remove hydrocarbon deposits. When used in concentrated form, SE-40 will address the following problems at once:
1. Remove formation blockage related to oil-based drilling fluids
2. Remove formation blockage related to water-based drilling fluids
1.Chemical will leave formation water-wet, does not absorb on formation
2.Lower surface and interfacial tensions
3.Will improve permeability
A well treatment program using SE-40 as a pre-flush to acid can deliver substantial economic paybacks related to increased production. Any acid treatments should have SEPCOR, LLC. SE-30 acid inhibitor added to the acid prior to any treatment.
Application Guidelines:
Treatment rates for SE-40 when added to an acid treatment run between 10 – 50 gallons/1000 gallons of acid. When using a concentrated form of SE-40 as a pre-flush to acid, treatment rates run between 50 – 400 gallons. Volume of SE-40 needed for pre-flush, depends on total volume of pay zone treated to at least 2 – 4 feet back into the formation.
